Meet the Author
Dr. Shatoya Black is an educator, author, strategist, entrepreneur, and social impact leader whose work sits at the intersection of human development, education, leadership, workforce development, and generational impact. A first-generation college graduate, Dr. Black earned her doctorate in Adult and Higher Education from Northern Illinois University (NIU) after a journey that began far outside the traditional pathway to higher education. Her professional career has included leadership in TRIO and higher education, securing more than $1 million in external funding, developing programs for students and professionals, leading experiential learning initiatives, and helping individuals and organizations move from potential to planning, and planning to purposeful action. Today, she is the Founder and CEO of Legacy Life Navigators LLC and Founder of Unique IMPACT INC nonprofit 501c3.
Her books and Human Development Framework reflect the philosophy at the center of all of her work, she says, "Sustainable success requires more than achievement. It requires alignment!
